Just realised!

I usually post happy v-day...pretty late! 

New month...New semester!

I've had a little break and now I'm back again. But seriously I've become blank about what to write about on my blog. It feels weird that I'm not in Kuwait for such a long time, but I actually got used to living alone! Just a few more months and I'll be done, hopefully.

Today is my 24th birthday! 

I always like to post on my blog on this special day :D. First time I'm spending it without the family! 

No me have no plans as I have class and everything dies after 6 pm here except pubs and clubs that is! What's great is a number of my friends remembered and already called and msged me!

My love for my iPhone

I've been attached to my iPhone for a week now.

I think all phones should go to hell.
Need I more to say?

I changed from Vodafone to Three simply because their service is crap. I had purchased my unlocked iPhone two weeks ago and When I went to get my micro-sim they had ran out. After checking out the other stores all they said was "if you want a micro-sim purchase the phone from us". So I went and got one from Three, as the package is all I really need!

It's Bon fire night but seriously the fire works are horrible!

I'm Moving....FINGERSCROSSED!

I'm moving to my new apartment tomorrow, which I haven't even seen! For some reason, even though the policy is that you have to see the apartment before renting it, this one was different. I didn't have a choice because if I didn't take it then the next Chinese person across the world will. I'm not joking it happened infront of me when I was sitting in their reception!

GLEE Season TWO!

When I first heard that GLEE is back...I was happy...when I finally found a site to stream it off and watched it....I was reminded of how much happiness and excitement this show really brings me...I think it's the combination of my love for high school shows...music..especially songs that I could sing along to..and let's not forget my extra LOVE for comedies!! I'm really speechless...super excited about watching the rest of the series..and worried I won't be studying :P anyways this is one of my FAVE episodes...the songs they picked were my most loved ones...including New York, Telephone, and Billionaire...:D All were performed very well...and the plot surprises me more than before...The writers are MUCH better..I'm guessing because they want to be better and know they have to improve...AHHHHHHHHHHHH..and the new members of the show FAB FAB FAB! Seriously, they have a really great team working with them! This show gives me goosebumps and brings me to tears at the same time...because of the JOY of hearing such amazing voices...I don't think this ever happened to me with anything I've known! Honestly...when my bro told me I would love this show...I didn't understand...then he gave me the first series and I finished it in under 2 days :P

Announcement: My New Home

I have moved and currently studying my postgraduate course in the UK. Yes, finally I'm doing something useful with my life and YES this was what my countdown was all about which I wanted to tell you about.It's been hectic and only yesterday I found a suitable apartment to live in.

What can I say? Well staying in the "heart of the city" means staying in the "heart of the noise and drunks". The streets r steeeeeeeeeeep so for the first few days my legs were suffering, I'm really enjoying it though. It's getting tougher to deal with the work load and the amount of rain. I have forgotten that the weather is very unpredictable. As most of my readers know I love the sun. I'm trying to  focus on looking at the "bright side".

I feel at home as I've lived here before anyways, however, the university life here is great and so different to KU. Truly another world. I still don't get the weird dress code and the clashing of colours and styles. I'll keep you more updated when I have more interesting news and time!

Best Ramadan 2010 Series: Sahir al-layl- ساهر الليل

So far the best show this Ramadan. They showed more reality and balance in the events, taking us to the world a lot of us only heard of, but never experienced. Even though we wanted Nasser and Lulwa to get married, we still got to see realistically that it was difficult at that time. It all depended on the father. With Dalal and Nawaf, there was a difference in the way they handled the situation. Let's not forget that they knew each other longer and so were older than the other couple. They seemed smarter and more focused on their goals, but to think about it, it's also the father that made a difference of course. I think he is one of my fave fatherly firgures because no matter what, it still seemed he was standing by woman, for example, like when Lulwa was caught he could think better.

Most people thought that he wouldn't let his own daughter marry Nawaf. But I had a feeling he would, which was great as he didn't force her to go back to her first husband, who seemed in a bit better postion, seeing as he's the son of his friend. I have to say that the actors and actresses did great. If it wasn't for the problem with Nasser and Lulwa getting married, then he wouldn't have been able to write his story and for him to become famous. Also, it shows that sometimes we need to lose something in life to gain something else, for example, Nasser's tragic love story is what helped him improve his writing and lead people through his love story. This probably helped other readers who went through a similar phase, which is a positive thing at the end.

One of the most important parts of the whole series is the last scene when they were looking at each other. It takes us back to their innocent love stares and in our hearts we feel happy for them more than sad. I think that sometimes there has to be balance in life, so this showed how happy they were with just a stare. Without out words, you can feel their hearts and acceptance of life.

I would watch this series again and for those who missed it, watch it online. It's a mixture of culture, history, wonderful directing and music. The characters are so lovable and easy to understand. The simplicity is what made this show so successful. As they always say, sometimes the more simple something is portrayed, the more meaning that it can have.

I was so satisfied with the ending and wouldn't want anything in the plot to change. I really hope that next year we see something similar, as these are the shows that make us wait for next Ramadan to start!
